Classics of
the Silver Screen is an hour of the finest in orchestral soundtracks, from
the silents like the 1925 version of "Ben Hur" through the "Golden Age" of "The
Sea Hawk" to more recent blockbusters. Hosted by
Bob Armbruster, each week
Classics of the Silver Screen brings the curtain up on a different
theme, ranging from desert films ("Beau Geste," "Lawrence of Arabia" and "The
Wind and the Lion,") to World War One airplane movies ("Flyboys," "The Blue
Max") and westerns ("Big Jake," "The Magnificent Seven" and "How the West Was
Won.") Of course, films of the season, like "It's a Wonderful Life" and "Bride
of Frankenstein" take their turn on the marque as well. Get your popcorn ready
and join us for Classics of the Silver Screen - Thursday nights at 8:05,
with a second screening at straight up midnight Sunday morning - but only on
CLASSIC99.
