Fridays at 6pm
until 8pm, John
Clayton pushes the envelope and spreads out a feast of the lighter side
of classical music; John calls it 2 hours of fun. You'll hear everything from
Strauss waltzes, brass bands, percussion ensembles, to movie music with John
Williams and the Boston Pops (Star Wars!). In addition to John
Williams, all the other masters of symphonic "pops" music are heard on the
show: Richard Hayman, Arthur Fiedler and Eric Kunzel. The big
orchestras are on the docket, but there's also light vocal music and small
groups, guitar, flute even tuba ensembles and synthesized "pops" combined with
tasty jazz nibbles from such masters as Ray Brown and George
Shearing. |
