Position Title: Sales Representative, KFUO FM RADIO
Responsibilities
The primary responsibility of an Account Representative is to acquire local advertisers for KFUO-FM, St. Louis' only classical music station. This involves developing and expanding client advertising lists, and establishing business relationships with advertisers and advertising agencies. Typically, a Representative makes four to five daily sales calls, and writes and makes sales presentations. Representatives also write and/or acquire information for commercials. Account Representatives are responsible for the credit status and collection of their accounts, and attend several internal staff meetings per week. Additional duties include assisting in the development and tracking of sales reports, and working with the entire sales staff to develop new business. Finally, Account Representatives may be required to attend sales training seminars.
The duties of an Account Representative are performed at the direction of the Sales Manager, who may, from time to time, change Account Representative's specific duties and client lists.
Qualifications
The desired qualifications for an Account Representative are:
- A minimum of an Associates Degree, or the equivalent in practical knowledge and experience.
- One year's experience in broadcast sales, or 3 years' experience in selling an intangible product or service.
- A knowledge of the use and interpretation of research materials.
- A demonstrated ability to function as a member of a team.
